09.03 - 03.04.2024
Boris Kolev B.a.i.l.a typically focuses on the depiction of figures, but he takes particular pleasure in painting flowers, viewing this act as a challenge in itself. The artist acknowledges the delicate balance between emotion and design in portraying flowers, striving thus to reveal their true beauty without crossing into sentimentality or succumbing to ornamental concerns. In his works, flowers seem to communicate with each other like humans, forming mutual connections and being perceived akin to human portraits.
In addition, Boris Kolev B.a.i.l.a raises questions about the future existence of nature’s beauty due to climate change in his exhibition, Wild Flowers. The flowers showcased in the exhibition are not merely art objects; they also serve as a call to humanity and a reminder for the preservation of nature and its transmission to future generations. Thus, beyond offering the viewer an aesthetic experience, the exhibition urges them to question the relationship between humans and nature, draw attention to, and create awareness about this global crisis.
Boris Kolev B.a.i.l.a’s art offers more than just visual delight; it prompts contemplation, evokes emotions, and inspires action. The Wild Flowers exhibition transcends art as a mere means of aesthetic expression, transforming it into a socially and environmentally sensitive approach to addressing issues.
