Maglov Reloaded revisits paintings made in the shadow of a pandemic that turned connectivity into the defining condition of social life. Read again from a distance, these works stand as “anatomical” dissections of the social body: quiet, minimalist studies of what happens at the margins of connection, where the weird emerges from the wired.
Working within classical aesthetic frameworks, Maglov uses idealization and refinement to expose the mechanisms of categorization, exclusion, and the pursuit of perfection. The uncanny is presented inside a meticulously built order, which unsettles the viewer’s expectations. There is no apocalypse here, only entropy.
Reloaded asks whether these relics have changed now that the crisis has passed and its logic has settled into the everyday.

About the artist
Radoslav Maglov is a Bulgarian artist, researcher and theorist who lives and works in Sofia. His interdisciplinary practice encompasses sculpture, installation, video and painting, combining artistic research with theoretical inquiry and experimental approaches.
A central concern in Maglov’s work is the capacity of art to generate its own forms of knowledge. His practice explores the relationship between artistic knowledge, social structures and systems of interpretation, with particular attention to corporeality and the ways in which the human body is shaped by political, social and ethical contexts. Through objects, images and installations, Maglov examines the boundaries between subject and object, perception and meaning, and the conventions through which the body is understood.
Maglov holds a PhD in Art from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, where he defended his thesis Liminality in the Interpretations of Corporeality in Contemporary Art in 2023. He also holds an MA in Sculpture and a BA in Fine Arts from the National Academy of Arts. His research has been further developed through academic exchanges at the University of the Arts Helsinki and the Universitatea de Artă și Design din Cluj-Napoca.
His recent solo exhibitions include Vessel at Laufen Roca Gallery, Sofia (2026), The Friendly Moose at Soldout Gallery, Sofia (2026), Spare Eye at Arosita Gallery, Sofia (2024), and Ontologies of the Uncanny at Arosita Gallery, Sofia (2022). His work has also been presented internationally in exhibitions and festivals across Europe, the United States and Brazil.
Maglov has received the Union of Bulgarian Artists’ grant for cultural exchange in Paris (2015/2016), the first prize of the Sculpture Commission of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005), and the second prize at the XIV International Festival for Computer Arts “Computer Space 2002”. His artistic research has been supported through residencies at Cité internationale des arts in Paris (2015/2016) and the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in New York (2025), where he was supported by the American Foundation for Bulgaria.
Alongside his artistic practice, Maglov is the founder and project lead of Floating Artistic Interdisciplinary Research (FAIR), a platform dedicated to artistic research and interdisciplinary collaboration, and NARCIS (Nies Artistic Research Center and Interaction Space), a cultural initiative focused on artistic research, exhibitions and community engagement.
